How to Choose a Copper Tea Scoop: Shapes, Dimensions & Tea Pairings | SEKIMONO

When choosing a copper tea scoop, compare the published dimensions, overall form, surface design and how the piece fits visually within your tea setting. SEKIMONO currently offers seven copper tea scoops in different lengths and widths, with current prices from $79 to $89 USD. For a broader look at measuring, inspecting, and transferring delicate whole leaves, consult our guide to loose-leaf tea tools.

Decide on points of comparison before you choose

At SEKIMONO, we currently offer seven tea scoop pieces. While each piece serves the same function as a "tea scoop," they differ in outline, surface texture, and dimensions. To begin, try checking the following three points on the product page:

• Shape: Examine the outline and three-dimensionality from the posted photos and descriptions.
• Dimensions: Check the listed length and width to see how they differ from other pieces.
• Design: Consider the theme or surface expression of each piece in relation to how it would look in your own tea setting.

For example, Hidden Landscape is listed as approximately 112 × 52 mm, while Bright Moon, Clear Breeze is approximately 185 × 49 mm. These figures indicate the external dimensions of the pieces. You cannot determine factors like tea capacity or ease of handling based on these numbers alone.

Interpret the design as a highlight of each piece

Along with its use as a tool, the aesthetic of a tea scoop when held is another reason to choose it. Gold & Jade features a rounded, three-dimensional design, while Hidden Landscape bears a surface design reminiscent of a landscape. This information is intended for comparing the expressions of each piece, rather than determining which is superior.

When moving back and forth between photos and descriptions, it is best to look at the outline and the undulations of the surface, rather than judging solely by the design name. Once you have narrowed down your choices, check the dimensions listed on the product page again.

When you want to compare dimensions in detail

If you would like to check the length and width of all seven pieces in a list, we have compiled them in Tea Scoop Size Comparison | Length and Width of SEKIMONO's 7 Pieces. Here, we have set aside the selection guide and simply laid out the approximate dimensions currently found on the product pages.

Final checks on the product page

Before deciding on a piece, please re-read the posted photos, dimensions, and production information. Just like with Gold & Jade and Hidden Landscape, even pieces that are both tea scoops will differ in appearance and listed dimensions. Deciding on the order of importance for your personal criteria before comparing them will help you avoid rushing your decision.
